Cheyenne Man Stabs Family, Later Killed In Colorado Crash

The Cheyenne Police Department responded to multiple 911 hang up calls at 4306 Cheyenne 11:15 pm on January 15, 2016 and upon arriving found four people had been stabbed. A person presumed to be the suspect, Randall Vanwoerkom, 30, is deceased after being struck by multiple vehicles in Weld County, Colorado.

When officers responded to the residence, they found four members of Randall’s family had been stabbed with a knife multiple times. The victims include Randall’s wife, Marcai Vanwoerkom, 30, and the couple’s 4 and 6 year old sons as well as Marcai’s father, James Langdon, whose age is unknown at this time. Cheyenne Police Officers provided emergency aid to the victims until paramedics could arrive and began to search for the suspect. All victims were transported to the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center for treatment and are in stable condition.

It was established by officers that Randall was the suspect and had attacked his family after he was confronted by allegations of infidelity. Randall fled the scene in a vehicle prior to officers arriving.

As officers were attempting to contact Randall, they were notified at approximately 1:00 am on January 16 that the suspect was believed to be involved in a fatal crash on I-25 in Weld County, Colorado. The identity of the person killed after being struck by multiple vehicles while in the roadway is still awaiting confirmation and the crash is being investigated by authorities in Weld County, Colorado. This case remains under investigation by the Cheyenne Police Department.
